The spirit of “One Love” took center stage at Hard Rock Live on January 2, 2026, as a powerhouse lineup of reggae and dancehall icons gathered for the “Stay Strong Jamaica” hurricane relief concert. The event, held at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, served as a massive humanitarian effort to support recovery following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm that battered the island in late 2025.
The concert brought together a rare assembly of talent, ranging from foundation legends to contemporary stars. 100% of the net proceeds were pledged to Jamaica’s Promise, the official beneficiary of the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, to fund housing, infrastructure, and humanitarian aid. The Grammy-winning headliner Shaggy closed the night with a high-energy set that sent the audience home on a celebratory and hopeful note. Both Julian Marley and Ky-Mani Marley performing with The Wailers delivered soul-stirring sets, using their voices to honor their father’s legacy of unity while advocating for the rebuilding of their homeland. The “Queen of Reggae,” Marcia Griffiths, graced the stage with timeless classics, while ETANA and the duo Nailah and Nyanda of Brick & Lace provided powerful vocal performances that resonated with the themes of resilience and strength. The lineup featured the distinct sounds of Mykal Rose, the energetic presence of I-Octane, and a rare performance by Wayne Armond and the veteran reggae band CHALICE.
Attending was Oliver Mair, Consulate General of Jamaica and Jamaican Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness praised the event, stating that it represented “the extraordinary spirit of our people and the unwavering support of our global community”. Olivia “Babsy” Grange, Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, described the music as the “bridge to take us over troubled waters,” emphasizing the concert’s role in sustaining long-term recovery efforts.Throughout the evening, donation screens reminded the 7,000-capacity crowd of the ongoing mission, with the Seminole Hard Rock matching contributions up to $25,000 to further boost the relief fund.
