
One of Miami oldest arena is The James L. Knight Center located in the heart of downtown Miami, Florida the JLKC seats well over 4600 and can accommodate up to 5,000 people. The JLKC opened in 1982 during the boom period of the Miami entertainment industry in South Florida’s and become one of the longest operating entertainment facilities in the city. The venue was operate by the City of Miami , the wall of fame of the JLKC is a list of who’s whom of the Entertainment industry acts that have performed there include; Luciano Pavorotti, Luther Vandross, Metallica, Sting, David Bowie, ThalÃa, Whitney Houston, Cher, Ricky Martin, Alicia Keys, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Gladys Knight, David Copperfield, and Jimmy Page. Recently, Lady Gaga, R. Kelly, Ruben Blades, Fantasia, Drake and many more…. The JLKC also home to many corporate events and many graduations.
