The U.S. Bill of Rights:

Pentagon’s demand for press to sign ‘pledge’: The U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration and The secretary of defense Pete Hegseth, In a memo on Friday to Pentagon journalists press corps that the Pentagon’s demanding for the press to sign ‘pledge’ restricting reporting, the Department of Defense is now imposing the new restrictions on media coverage of the U.S. military, requiring news organizations to agree they will not disclose information that the government has not approved for release.
ABC/Disney Just announce that ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ will return to ABC on Tuesday.
During President Joe Biden’s time in office, Republicans frequently raised concerns about what they characterized as federal overreach and attempts to suppress conservative speech, especially on social media. The primary Republican criticisms focused on the Biden administration’s interactions with social media companies and its handling of online “misinformation”. A central Republican argument was that the Biden administration, and agencies like the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), improperly used their authority to pressure social media platforms into censoring or moderating content with which they disagreed. Now MAGA Republicans threaten to cancel anyone who disparages about how Charlie Kirk live his life and die. Two Republicans introduced resolutions seeking to punish Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) for commenting on Kirk’s death and re-sharing a social media post that harshly criticized him. ABC “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was pulled off air ‘indefinitely’ by ABC over Charlie Kirk monologue after the announcement by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr criticized Kimmel and said, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” Conservatives Republican and MAGA are now embracing the “cancel culture” they once rebuked. On his first day in office in 2025 Trump signed an executive order titled “Restoring Freedom of Speech and Ending Federal Censorship”. The order is intended to prevent federal government censorship and investigate for what it calls the “censorship” of Americans’ online speech under the previous administration. After President Donald Trump said Monday he’s “not so sure” about Americans’ First Amendment rights, Attorney General Pam Bondi dutifully followed up by threatening to bring racketeering charges against left-leaning groups that say things conservatives don’t like in response to Charlie Kirk’s assassination: Following the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the Trump administration vowed to crack down on rhetoric related to his death. Vice President JD Vance urged the public to report anyone celebrating Kirk’s murder to their employer, a move seen by critics as an attempt to suppress speech.
