Fergie get the tumbs-up from the NFL for partnership with Dolphins

Rap and R&B artist Stacy Ann Fergurson, better known as Fergie, will join a long list of Miami Dolphin part-owners with celebrities’ friends Jennifer Lopez and Mark Anthony, Gloria Estefan and Emilio Estefan, Jimmy Buffett and tennis super duet Venus Williams and Serena Williams. Since the announcement on Tuesday Owner Stephen Ross cautioned that a formal agreement still have to be worked out.

As the lead singer of the Black Eye Peas, Fergie has performed on countless stage including the National Football League during Super Bowl XXXIX and XLI.

Fergie love for the game started at an early age with both parent as educator, and father Patrick Ferguson was a football coach at the junior high school at her hometown of Whittier, California.

This is the latest move by Team owner Stephen Ross, bringing in power house celebrities part owner in other to keep momentum going for the team and to keep the stadium seat full.

The new ballpark to be built for The Florida Marlins (to be completed in by 2012) is expected to cause revenue loss for the Dolphin’s franchise and Landshark stadium.
